Short Term On-Street Parking in Downtown can put you close to your destination and be inexpensive!
Parking Meters
For short-term parking on the streets of Downtown you can always choose to use any available parking meter. You will need coins (nickels, dimes or quarters) for payment, and the rate is just $1.50 each hour with a 2-hour maximum.
Pay Stations
New parking technology is arriving Downtown as the City of Seattle has begun the process of replacing standard parking meters with pay stations. The new pay stations add convenience by allowing you to choose to pay with coins, credit cards or debit cards bearing a VISA or MasterCard logo. In addition, your paid receipt is portable allowing you to run errands around downtown, parking in any available on-street stall, until your paid time period expires. The pay station rates are $1.50 each hour and you can purchase up to 2 hours.
Pay stations are located mid-block and signed to catch your eye. You will approach the pay station and follow the instruction prompts to enter your choice of payment and retrieve your receipt. You then simply stick the receipt to the inside of your curbside window and go on your way. Metropolitan Improvement District Ambassadors will be greeting parkers at the pay stations to assist you as each new unit is installed.
Meters and pay stations require payment beginning at 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday and are then free after 6 p.m. and free all day on Sundays.
