Home Free Guarantee - Metro’s taxi service program is your guaranteed ride home.

Changing commute habits can be a real challenge. We all know that when people commute without driving alone unexpected events can occur during the work day that require a response.

Home Free Guarantee gives each employee up to 8 free cab rides a year (60 miles one way) for unexpected events that occur during the workday. It comes at no additional cost if your company purchases Flexpass. You can purchase Home Free Guarantee for your employees that commute using alternatives even if your company does not have Flexpass. For companies with 100 or more employees it only costs $1 per employee for the first 6 months of enrollment. An affordable fixed rate is applied to firms of less than 100 employees.

How to use it

The only requirement is that the requestor has taken the bus, train, carpool, vanpool, walked or biked to work on the day a ride is needed.

Home Free Guarantee can be used for:

• Employee or family illness
• Working late unexpectedly
• Missing normal ride home (example, carpool driver left early)
• Other emergencies that come up during the day

The trip must begin at work and can end at home or another location. Emergency related interim stops are permitted if they are approved at the time of the request (example, pharmacy pick up on the way to day care).

The program is straight forward and once in place it runs smoothly with minimal cost and administration time. After you sign up, your company designates staff to coordinate taxi rides for your employees. Your employees contact the assigned company coordinator and that person calls the Metro taxi line to request the ride and retrieve the authorization number. The employee gives the authorization number to the cab driver and this acts as payment for the trip. Your company administrator then simply keeps a record of the employees who use Home Free Guarantee each month to make sure they don't exceed their trip limit and sends taxi receipts to Metro.
